Bipasha Maity is an assistant professor of economics at Ashoka University. Her research interests include development economics, gender economics, labour economics and economic history. Some of her research focuses on the roles of public policy in influencing individual welfare and mitigating gender-based inequality in both high and low-income countries. Before joining Ashoka University, Bipasha was a research fellow at the Osaka School of International Public Policy at Osaka University, Japan. She received her PhD in Economics from the University of British Columbia, Canada.
